Job Description

Our client is a leading Estates Management organisation with a long term contract to manage and maintenance a diverse selection of commercial MOD assets across the Salisbury Plain.

As a CIS Infrastructure Support Engineer, you will specifically be responsible for maintaining, installing, and configuring internal and external communication cable infrastructure.

To be considered for this role, you must have experience in installing, maintaining, testing, and configuring internal/external copper voice networks, structured cabling, and internal/external fibre optic networks.

It would also be desirable to have practical experience in installing, testing, and maintaining IRS equipment, knowledge of JSP604 and associated industry standards, and knowledge of general voice and data communications principles.

Additionally, you must be able to work effectively alone or as part of a team and should be able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines, reacting practically and proactively to resolve problems and most importantly, you should be able to deliver all maintenance, repair and installation tasks to a high standard.

Other key responsibilities for this role includes:

  • Carrying out fault diagnosis and rectification on the communication cable infrastructure.
  • Carrying out moves, changes, and additions to the communication cable infrastructure.
  • Carrying out periodic surveys, testing and maintenance of the communication cable infrastructure, including outside plant.
  • Carrying out fault diagnosis and rectification on IRS/TV systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • City and Guilds 3666 qualification (or suitable military training)
  • CAI recognised IRS/TV training would be desirable.
  • Ability to obtain MOD security clearance.
