Job Description

Our client is a leading UK defence contractor, looking to recruit a team leader, responsible for the operational delivery of demilitarisation tasks at MoD Shoeburyness.

• Ensure that all Hazardous Activities within your control are conducted in accordance with legislation including MSER, the QinetiQ Hazardous Activities Management process and that they match customer expectations.
• Ensure that all practices conducted during disposal activities have suitable and sufficient risk assessments with control measures in place.
• Conduct Demilitarisation Disposal tasks when required, in accordance with the relevant process instruction.
• In conjunction with the Resources Manager, monitor the availability of competent staff for disposal activities, ensuring that the appropriate level of supervision is applied to all tasks.
• Responsible for personal and technical development of a team, ensuring that staff competencies are maintained in order to meet the business needs.
• The Team Lead will be in control of the Demilitarisation Budget
• In conjunction with the Site management Team, the Team Lead will ensure that a programme of inspections and evaluations for demilitarisation facilities are carried out and ensure that any findings from internal or external inspections are addressed effectively based on their level of risk.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Detailed technical knowledge of Military EOD disposals planning and range safety procedures.
• Awareness of range planning safety tools.
• Working knowledge of the MOD end-user structures.
