Job Description
Our client is a leader in the application of autonomous and robotic systems for defence and security, actively developing solutions and providing services to support work in the maritime, land and air domains. They test and design naval mission systems for the likes of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and external customers, looking for a battle-winning edge.
The successful Senior Systems Engineer will work within (and lead where appropriate) a highly capable team with an enviable track record of delivery to the MOD customer. Scope includes support to research, operational experimentation and providing advice that sets the context for future acquisition programmes. Whether developing new ways of solving customer problems through technology or enabling operational experimentation to explore those solutions, the Future Systems team are at the cutting edge of system of system engineering in a 21st century maritime and littoral battlespace.
- You will be responsible for Systems Engineering leadership within a dynamic team.
- You will support to developing novel solutions, integrating communications, hosting and applications at system of systems level to deliver military effect.
- The Senior Systems Engineer will provide technical leadership and systems expertise for planning and executing delivery of complex trials and engineering tasks.
- You will liaise regularly with project management teams/customer progress reviews, ensuring technical delivery to time, cost and performance whilst managing risk.
- The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the provision of technical support and advice to customers on system requirements, design solutions, testing and performance.
- You will oversee the production of high-quality technical bids and documentation to support the needs of the customer.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Strong Systems Engineering leadership experience.
- Proven working knowledge and experience of platform and system safety and certification issues preferably in at least one of the following domains: Air, Sea, Surface and Underwater.
- Educated to degree level or above in a relevant technical discipline.
- Flexible with a willingness to work away on occasions.
- Due to the nature of this position, you must hold current SC clearance as a minimum.
