Job Description

Our client is a leading global defence, security and aerospace organisation looking to expand its UK team specialising in Radio Frequency Research.

As a Radio Frequency Research Consultant you will help solve challenging RF problems across various exciting military projects.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A degree in Science or Engineering, or an equivalent, nationally recognised, professional qualification, with typically around 5 years of further on the job experience.
  • Experience of working with a broad and comprehensive range of concepts and principles within the areas of resilient RF communications.
  • Ability to use modelling, software and operational analyses techniques to formulate a problem and provide analysis and conclusions.
  • Knowledge of Line of Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) systems.
  • Understanding of RF propagation in both LOS and BLOS environments and the physical layer elements of the system relating to key performance attributes e.g. antennas, spectrum access, modulation and coding.
  • Systems engineering background, understanding requirements capture, integration planning and testing.
  • Ability to collect and analyse data from multiple sources, reason out trends and outliers and provide actionable advice pitched at the correct level for the audience through reports or presentations.
  • Experience of delivering high value, research, consultancy and engineering activities with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • NB. Candidates are required to obtain a minimum of SC security clearance. To qualify, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the UK for the last 5 years for SC and 10 years for DV.
