Job Description

We are recruiting for a Mobile Calibration & Repair Technician to join our clients Target Systems division in Ashford, Kent. Specialising in the design and manufacture of a range of state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial and Surface Target systems, including the world-leading Banshee target. Reporting to the Global Field Services Director, you will be responsible for carrying out calibration, fault-finding (to component level), servicing, and repair, of both customer and company-owned equipment both on-site and on customer sites world-wide.

  • Plan and proactively contact customers / Account Managers to ensure timely calibration and repair of customer equipment.
  • Maintain Field Services team own equipment, and ensure it remains ‘in date’ for calibration, as required.
  • Ensure that all service items are tested, calibrated, or repaired, to the required quality standards, and in a timely manner, to meet business demand, either on customer sites, or at the factory in Ashford.
  • Ensure that products are tested in a timely manner, to meet business needs.
  • Document / record customer calibration and equipment inspectors / repairs within standard documentation; issue appropriate documentation to the customer, and update internal records.
  • Update build, test, and inspection documentation, as required.
  • Assist in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), inspection instructions, and test procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum BTEC or HNC / C&G qualification (or equivalent) in an Electronics discipline.
  • Are able to demonstrate a knowledge of calibration and repair / inspection process, to a high standard.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have the ability to read and interpret schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • Are IT literate, with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Have previous experience of Automated Test Equipment (ATE), in addition to experience of electronics testing and fault finding.
  • Possess a background knowledge of continuous improvement principles and techniques.
  • Are able to work alone in foreign countries.
