Job Description

The Maritime Training, Tactics, Test & Evaluation Transformation Integrated Delivery Team (MTET IDT) has a requirement for a Systems Engineer to work as a part of a small team to assist in the delivery phase of our Electromagnetic and Digital programme.

The project aims to design and implement a single coil system designed to offset Earth’s field for the determination of a platform’s induced vertical magnetic signature (IVMS). The platform will be installed into an existing maritime range facility.

The systems engineers will work with the Technical Lead (Engineering Delivery Manager) to deliver a complex and high-profile project within the MTET IDT portfolio.

• The Systems Engineer will be ensuring that the technical lead and project manager are fully informed of technical progress and issues.
• You will ensure that appropriate engineering plans (SEMP, Configuration Control, ITEA Plans, etc) are created, fully populated and maintained to an appropriate standard.
• The Systems Engineer will be liaising with suppliers and the wider business to ensure that the team are fully informed of progress and issues.
• You will be creating technical progress reports, in the form most appropriate for the activity.
• The Systems Engineer will be ensuring that the technical tasks are conducted according to the plan.
• You will be assisting in planning and conduct of acceptance trials.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Proven awareness of Systems Engineering Principles.
• Background in Electronics, Software or a similar Engineering field.
• Ideally qualified to degree level or above.
• Flexible with a willingness to work away on occasions.
• Due to the nature of this position, you must hold current SC clearance as a minimum.
